WORKSHOP SERIES by Roberta Bonetti (UNIBO), Seçil Uğur Yavuz (UNIBZ), Emanuele Marangio (SAMLABS), together with ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO DIFESA GRANDE — TERMOLI.
The workshops were conducted online from April to June through weekly meetings of 3 hours with two cohorts of students (13-14 years) of Istituto Comprensivo Difesa Grande — Termoli. The students participated in the workshop in online format. The aim is to teach students how smart technologies work through a collaborative design process in which they designed smart objects for their school.
Each student had a Samlabs kit which allowed them to build their prototypes with sensors and actuators, while in the online workshops they teamed up with other students to develop ideas, learn from each other and make collective reflections. While Emanuele Marangio was teaching Samlabs platform and how to code with the sensor/actuator modules, Roberta Bonetti and Seçil Uğur Yavuz facilitated the workshops with various methods and tools for co-creation and critical reflections on technology.
